Church Hall Rehearsals

What Makes This Session Special

Walk into the welcoming rehearsal space and join fellow singers for an evening of choral music. The session opens with vocal warm-ups before the group works through a varied programme of pieces, from opera and musical theatre to folk, sacred works and contemporary New Zealand compositions. Singers of all ages and experience levels take part, with the focus on enjoying the music and building ensemble sound together.

This open session runs every Tuesday evening and suits anyone who enjoys group singing without the pressure of an audition. New voices are encouraged to listen, learn the parts and join in at their own pace. The atmosphere stays friendly and supportive as the choir refines harmonies and prepares material for upcoming performances.

• Practice a wide range of choral repertoire each week
• Develop vocal technique through guided warm-ups
• Sing alongside others in a relaxed group setting
• Work on blend, dynamics and musical expression
• Prepare pieces for community performances
• Meet other local singers who share a love of choral music

Whether you have sung in choirs before or are trying it for the first time, the rehearsal offers a steady rhythm of learning and music-making that fits around everyday life.
