What Makes This Session Special

Participants gather for a straightforward 5km timed run, walk or jog along the Karamu Stream, or just to volunteer. The event suits all fitness levels, from first-timers, occasional participants to committed regulars, and welcomes dogs on leads. parkrunners all start together, follow the clear trail along the Karamu Stream, over the bridge to the turnaround then return. Times are recorded at the finish and uploaded after each event.

The event runs every Saturday morning, giving a consistent weekly routine for locals and visitors alike. All ages take part, so families often attend together. The open format means anyone can turn up and join without prior registration or membership requirements. However, if you want a regular record of your participation you should register at https://parkrun.co.nz/karamustream.

  • Follow a flat, scenic 5km course beside the stream

  • Receive an official timed result after finishing

  • Share the activity with friends, family or a dog, or babes in off-road capable pushchairs

  • Build a steady weekend exercise habit with minimal planning

  • Progress at your own pace without pressure

  • Chat with other participants in Mon Cafe and Bakery afterwards
