Senior Strength and Balance Class at Mt Albert Library

In a typical session of the Steady As You Go programme, you join a group for gentle exercises that focus on building strength and balance. These activities happen in a supportive setting at Mt Albert Library in Sandringham, Auckland. The class is geared towards older adults who may have limited mobility or use walking aids, or those who feel unsure about physical activities.

Participants work on progressive exercises that start simple and get a bit more challenging over time. This strength and balance training helps prevent falls, maintain mobility, build confidence, combat muscle loss, improve posture, and foster social connections. No prior experience is needed, just comfortable clothes and supportive shoes.
