Whangārei Celebrating Cultures, Connection and Belonging invites our community to come together for a colourful day of food, music, culture and conversation. Join us at Reyburn House on Sunday 29 November 2026, from 10.00am to 3.00pm, and enjoy the energy of people sharing the traditions, talents and stories that make Whangārei home.

This event is about meeting our neighbours, discovering something new and making space for everyone to feel welcome. Wander among the stalls, explore food and creative offerings, listen to music, and take time to connect with the people behind them. Bring your whānau, friends and neighbours for an easygoing day by the Town Basin.

We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds. Whether your family has lived in Te Tai Tokerau for generations or you have recently made Whangārei your home, your presence adds to the celebration. Come ready to share a conversation, learn about another culture, and recognise the experiences we have in common.

Community groups, cultural organisations, makers and stallholders are encouraged to be part of the day and share what they do. If you represent a cultural or community group, this is a chance to introduce your work, share your heritage and build lasting friendships. Visitors can support stallholders, enjoy the atmosphere and find new ways to connect with groups active in our city.

Belonging grows through small moments: a greeting at a stall, a meal shared with friends, a song that draws people together, or a conversation with someone you have just met. We hope this gathering offers plenty of those moments in a welcoming setting where everyone can participate at their own pace.
