The Ancient Art of Tai Chi for Modern Wellbeing πΏ
Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art transformed into a gentle form of exercise perfect for Kiwis of all ages. This low-impact practice combines slow, flowing movements with deep breathing and mindfulness to create a holistic approach to health and wellbeing.
During classes at Parksyde, you'll experience:
- Improved balance and stability - reducing the risk of falls, particularly beneficial for older adults
- Enhanced flexibility and coordination - through gentle, controlled movements
- Strengthened muscles - particularly in the legs, core and upper body
- Better breathing techniques - promoting relaxation and stress relief
- Mental clarity - through the meditative aspects of practice
Whether you're seeking to improve mobility, find a gentle way to stay active, or simply wish to experience a peaceful approach to exercise, these Tai Chi classes provide a supportive environment to learn and practice. The movements can be adapted to accommodate different physical capabilities, making it truly accessible for everyone.
Qi Gong, offered on Fridays, focuses on specific breathing techniques and energy cultivation that complement the Tai Chi practice, providing additional tools for wellbeing and vitality. π
