Exercise Benefits for Men with Cancer

Exercise plays a crucial role in supporting men through their cancer journey. Research shows that regular physical activity during and after cancer treatment can:

  • 🏋️‍♂️ Help manage treatment side effects including fatigue
  • 🧠 Improve mental wellbeing and reduce anxiety
  • ❤️ Enhance cardiovascular health and physical function
  • 🤝 Provide valuable social connection with others on similar journeys

Prost-FIT creates a safe space where men can exercise at their own pace while connecting with others who understand their experience. The programme is tailored to accommodate individual needs while providing appropriate challenges to maintain and improve fitness.

Sessions are led by qualified trainers who understand the unique challenges faced by men with cancer. The supportive group environment helps combat the isolation often experienced during cancer treatment and recovery.

While the programme is free to attend thanks to Dry July NZ Trust funding, registration is essential to ensure proper supervision and individualised attention during sessions.
