A Closer Look at Monday Evening Rehearsals

These Monday evening rehearsals bring singers together to practise choral music drawn from both classical and contemporary repertoire. Participants arrive at the venue and begin with vocal warm-ups before moving into focused ensemble work on the current season’s pieces. The session suits anyone who enjoys group singing, whether experienced choristers or those returning to choir after a break. Rehearsals run weekly on Monday evenings for most of the year, with additional Saturday sessions scheduled during performance seasons to refine material ahead of concerts.

The atmosphere supports steady improvement in blend, intonation and dynamics while preparing for the three main performance seasons each year. Singers work as a full choir of around 60 to 70 voices, building towards polished deliveries on stage.

  • Vocal warm-ups to ready the voice for extended singing
  • Sectional and full choir practice on selected repertoire
  • Guidance from the conductor on phrasing and expression
  • Opportunities to learn new classical and contemporary works
  • Ensemble skills development through repeated run-throughs
  • Preparation for upcoming public performances

Open to all ages, the session welcomes both regular members and visitors who wish to try a rehearsal.
