Strength & Balance Training for Kiwis of All Ages 🧘‍♀️

Strength and balance classes are essential for maintaining mobility and independence as we age. These specialised sessions are particularly beneficial for older adults looking to stay active and reduce fall risks.

What to expect in a Strength & Balance class:

  • Gradual warm-up activities to prepare your body
  • Targeted exercises that focus on major muscle groups
  • Balance-challenging movements in a safe, supported environment
  • Social interaction with like-minded community members
  • Professional guidance from experienced instructors

Regular participation in strength and balance classes has been shown to improve coordination, increase muscle strength, enhance joint flexibility, and boost confidence in everyday activities. These classes are designed to be adaptable, allowing participants to progress at their own pace and challenge themselves appropriately.

The music component of these classes adds an element of fun while helping with rhythm and timing. Research suggests that exercising to music can improve mood and motivation, making it easier to stay committed to your fitness journey.

For those new to exercise or returning after a break, Level 1 exercises offer a gentle introduction, often incorporating chairs for support. As confidence grows, participants can gradually transition to Level 2 activities that provide more challenge.

Join our welcoming Maunu community class today and take a positive step toward better health and wellbeing! 🌿
