Description of Lifefit Low

These lively, fun group exercise classes to music, are suitable for people who want to improve their overall fitness as well as their strength and balance. Getting you moving

Anyone who enjoys moving to music and has some experience of good old-fashioned aerobics will enjoy the cardio segments in classes. Instructors are experienced in providing for different abilities in the class.

What to expect

Participants can use the sturdy wooden poles to assist with balance as there are no chairs. Between the two leaders, there is plenty of variety and challenge for those looking for it. The class is 60 minutes. There are several active rests during the hour. No class on public holidays and over Christmas and New Year holidays.

Clayton and Mary Anne have many years of experience teaching group exercise and provide fun, challenging classes with plenty of variety.

The Uni Rec Centre, at Waikato University, can be accessed through Gate 1 on Knighton Rd. There are several car parks saved for class participants. These are along the grass border facing the Rec Centre. On your first visit, ask for a Lifefit car pass and put it on your dashboard when you arrive.

Who can join

Older adults who can be on their feet and moving for at least 40 minutes.

What to bring and wear:

Casual comfortable clothes e.g. track pants, shorts, tights or trousers with t-shirts or sweatshirts. Lace up or snug fitting shoes or sneakers that are comfortable to move in. Please arrive 10 to 15mins early for first class so the leader can have a chat with you. Everyone working out at the Uni Rec Centre is required to bring a towel.
