Benefits of Music-Based Exercise for Seniors 🎵

Movement to music classes offer fantastic benefits for Kiwi seniors looking to stay active in a fun, social environment. These sessions are particularly effective because they combine the joy of music with gentle yet effective exercise.

Why movement to music works:

  • Improves coordination and motor skills through rhythmic movement
  • Enhances balance and reduces fall risk - crucial for maintaining independence
  • Strengthens core muscles which support everyday activities
  • Boosts cardiovascular health without high-impact stress on joints
  • Creates a supportive social environment to combat isolation

The Keep Fit Programme at St Martins Hall provides a welcoming atmosphere where participants can work at their own pace. The class structure incorporates movements that can be modified based on individual mobility levels, making it accessible whether you're just starting your fitness journey or looking to maintain existing capabilities.

Regular attendance at movement to music classes has been shown to help participants maintain independence longer, improve mood through endorphin release, and provide valuable social connections with others in the community.

Join us for a cuppa after class and experience how movement and music can transform your wellbeing! 🌟
