Falls are a significant health concern for older adults, but regular participation in specialised balance and strength training can dramatically reduce your risk. Steady As You Go classes offer a scientifically-backed approach to improving stability and confidence in everyday movements.
Our community-based exercise programme delivers multiple benefits:
- Improved physical strength - targeted exercises strengthen key muscle groups essential for maintaining posture and stability
- Better balance and coordination - carefully designed movements enhance your body's balance systems
- Increased confidence - as your physical abilities improve, you'll gain confidence in daily activities
- Social connection π₯ - exercise with others creates valuable social bonds and motivation
- Independence maintenance - staying active helps preserve your ability to live independently
Each session follows a proven structure that gradually builds your capabilities while keeping you safe. Starting with seated exercises ensures everyone can participate regardless of current fitness level, while standing exercises can be modified with chair support as needed.
