The Benefits of Yang Style Tai Chi Practice πΏ
Yang Style Tai Chi is one of the most widely practiced forms of this ancient Chinese martial art in New Zealand and worldwide. Known for its gentle, flowing movements, Yang Style is particularly accessible while still delivering powerful health benefits.
What makes our Tai Chi classes special:
- Traditional approach that honours authentic Yang Style techniques
- Integration of Qigong practices for enhanced energy flow
- Emphasis on proper breathing techniques for stress reduction
- Adaptable movements suitable for various fitness levels
The Taiji Qigong Shibashi routine taught in our classes combines elements of Tai Chi and Qigong, making it ideal for improving flexibility, balance, and mental focus. These 18 synchronized movements help cultivate internal energy (Qi) while gently exercising the entire body.
Regular practice of Yang Style Tai Chi has been shown to improve balance, reduce stress, enhance mental clarity, and promote overall wellbeing. The mindful nature of these movements creates a moving meditation that benefits both body and mind.
Our classes welcome participants with reasonable to good mobility. While beginners can join, some basic physical capability is required to fully participate in the standing movements and forms practiced throughout the session.
Join our supportive community and discover why Tai Chi has been treasured for centuries as a path to improved health, harmony, and longevity. With regular practice, you'll develop greater body awareness, improved posture, and a calm, centered approach to daily life. π
