Benefits of Warm Water Exercise for Mobility & Strength 🏊‍♀️

AquaMove utilises the therapeutic properties of warm water to create an ideal exercise environment. The buoyancy of water reduces pressure on joints while providing natural resistance to strengthen muscles.

Warm water exercise offers several key advantages:

  • Joint-friendly movement: The water's buoyancy supports your body weight, reducing impact and making movement more comfortable
  • Natural resistance: Water provides gentle resistance in all directions, helping to build strength gradually
  • Improved circulation: The warmth and gentle pressure of water can help improve blood flow throughout your body
  • Enhanced flexibility: Warm water helps relax tight muscles, allowing for greater range of motion
  • Balance development: The unstable nature of water helps train core muscles and improve balance
  • Reduced pain: Many participants experience temporary pain relief during and after water exercise

The supportive social environment at Otaki Pool makes AquaMove not just physically beneficial but mentally uplifting as well. The programme is structured to accommodate various ability levels within its supportive framework.

No swimming ability is required to participate in AquaMove, as exercises are performed while standing in chest-deep water. Our trained instructors ensure all movements are performed correctly and safely.
