Benefits of Warm Water Exercise for Arthritis 🌊
Warm water therapy is one of the most effective and comfortable ways to manage arthritis symptoms and improve mobility. The buoyancy of water reduces pressure on painful joints while providing natural resistance for gentle strengthening.
At Coastlands Aquatic Centre, our AquaEase programme offers:
- Pain relief: The warm water (32°C) helps relax muscles and increase blood flow to stiff joints
- Improved joint flexibility: Gentle movements in water allow for greater range of motion without strain
- Enhanced strength: Water provides natural resistance for muscle strengthening without impact
- Better balance: Exercises in water help improve stability and confidence in movement
- Reduced stress: The warm, supportive environment promotes relaxation and wellbeing
Our specially trained instructors understand the challenges of arthritis and similar conditions. They provide modifications and individual attention to ensure you can participate safely and comfortably, regardless of your current mobility level.
The supportive group environment also offers an opportunity to connect with others facing similar challenges, creating a positive social experience alongside the physical benefits. Many participants find this aspect particularly valuable on their wellness journey.
