Welcome to the Whangarei Model Engineering Club
The small gauge railway group encourages model engineering and enjoys running a small gauge railway for the public at Heritage Park, Maunu. Our railway operates on club days and open days, giving visitors a chance to experience the charm of miniature trains and the craft behind them.
The club is a welcoming place for anyone interested in model engineering—whether that’s small gauge railways, scale models, or other creative engineering projects. We promote hands-on learning, sharing knowledge, and building skills together in a friendly, supportive environment.
Based in Northland, we’re part of a passionate community that values creativity, technical curiosity, and teamwork. Members come from a mix of backgrounds, but all share a love of precision, craftsmanship, and bringing miniature machines to life.
