Welcome to the Waikato Domestic Beekeepers Association
The Waikato Domestic Beekeepers Association is a thriving hub for beekeeping enthusiasts in the heart of New Zealand's Waikato region. Established in 1968, our club brings together over 150 members who share a passion for bees and hive management. Whether you're new to the world of beekeeping or an experienced hand, our club offers a welcoming space to exchange ideas, gain knowledge, and grow your skills. We meet most months on the third Thursday at 7:30pm, with engaging speakers covering a variety of topics to inspire and educate. Additionally, the Saturday morning following each meeting hosts a club hive field day, providing hands-on learning opportunities for all members.
We're proudly based in Enderley, Hamilton, within the vibrant Waikato region, a fertile area known for its agricultural heritage and supportive community of hobbyists. Our regular meetings take place at the Ruakura Campus Club, located at 10 Bisley Road, beside the tennis courts within the Ruakura Research Centre. This central location makes it easy for members from across Hamilton and surrounding areas to join us for both theoretical and practical beekeeping sessions. The Waikato region, with its lush landscapes and diverse flora, provides an ideal backdrop for nurturing healthy hives and learning about sustainable practices.
