Established in 1995, the Combined Probus Club of Waikanae Inc is a thriving social club dedicated to fostering friendship and community engagement among retirees and semi-retirees. As a Probus club, we provide a welcoming space for both men and women to connect through shared interests and lively interactions. With a membership of 120, our club is a vibrant hub of activity, hosting monthly meetings that feature member talks, guest speakers, and plenty of opportunities for discussion. Finding a community to belong to is easy when you’re in Waikanae, Wellington. Our club is proudly based in this charming town on the Kapiti Coast, a region known for its stunning natural beauty and relaxed lifestyle. Our monthly gatherings take place at the Waikanae Community Centre, located at 28 Utauta Street, Waikanae 5036. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month (except January) at 10am, providing a convenient and central spot for our members to come together and enjoy the camaraderie of our social club.

What to Expect at Our Meetings

Kicking off at 10am, each session begins with a warm welcome and important club announcements. This is followed by a 10-minute talk from one of our members on a topic of personal interest or experience, often sparking lively question-and-answer sessions. After a refreshing morning tea break, we host a guest speaker who addresses a subject of current interest for 30-40 minutes, leaving time for further discussion. A special tradition occurs at our March meeting, which includes our Annual General Meeting (AGM) followed by the Evan Thomas Memorial Debate, featuring talented student debating teams from Kapiti and Paraparaumu Colleges.
