About North Shore Judo Club
North Shore Judo is Auckland's longest-running judo club, founded in 1969 by Sensei Ron Jones (5th Dan) and located at 34 Barrys Point Road, Takapuna on Auckland's North Shore. Now led by Head Coach Simon Greenhill, a Judo New Zealand recognised National Club Coach since 2006 — the club has introduced thousands of players across Auckland and New Zealand to the art of judo, "the gentle way."
The club offers structured judo classes for all ages and experience levels. Pee Wees classes cater to children aged 4-6, Junior classes run for ages 7-14, and Senior classes are open to teens and adults aged 15 and up. All programmes are beginner-friendly, with experienced high-belt members supporting coaches on the mat. Classes run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during school terms, and your first class is always free! Find out more at northshorejudo.co.nz
Training takes place in a competition-size dojo that is fully matted and purpose-built for safe, effective judo at all levels. Free on-site parking is available. North Shore Judo is affiliated with the New Zealand Judo Federation, the Auckland Judo Association, and the International Judo Federation.
Families travel from across the North Shore to train here, including Takapuna, Milford, Devonport, Albany, Glenfield, Birkenhead, Birkdale, and Wairau — making it the go-to judo club for the North Shore Auckland community. Rated a perfect 5/5 stars on Google Maps.
