Weekly Choir Rehearsals in Parnell

A Typical Session

This Wednesday evening gathering suits members of all ages who enjoy choral singing. The session focuses on the Auckland Choral Society's symphonic choir work, where participants rehearse traditional and contemporary pieces including works by New Zealand composers.

The group meets weekly on Wednesday evenings throughout the year. Members arrive ready to warm up together before moving into focused rehearsal of vocal parts and full ensemble pieces under the music director. The format builds vocal technique, blend and musical interpretation over the evening.

• Group vocal warm-ups to prepare voices
• Sectional work on harmonies and dynamics
• Full choir rehearsal of current repertoire
• Guidance from the music director on phrasing
• Opportunity to refine performance-ready pieces
• Connection with fellow singers in a 100-plus voice ensemble

As a members-only activity, this rehearsal is reserved for those already part of the society.
