Everything You Need to Know

Come along and try a Tuesday evening choir session with the City Of Auckland Singers. Participants gather to rehearse a mixed voice SATB programme that blends popular hits from the 1960s to the present with selected New Zealand pieces. A pianist provides live accompaniment while the group works on vocal blend, dynamics and occasional light choreography.

The session suits singers of all ages and experience levels. New voices are welcome each week and the format allows everyone to join in at their own comfort level. Rehearsals run weekly on Tuesday evenings from February through to early December, giving regular attendees steady progress on concert and festival material.

  • Learn and polish current repertoire with piano support
  • Work on harmony parts in a full SATB setting
  • Explore solo or small-group opportunities within the programme
  • Prepare pieces for upcoming performances and social events
  • Build vocal technique and stage presence together
  • Enjoy a sociable atmosphere focused on music-making

Whether you are returning to singing or trying choir life for the first time, the weekly format offers a relaxed yet productive way to develop skills and contribute to performances.
