The Great Canterbury Duck Race 2026

The Great Canterbury Duck Race is back for its 9th year!

Join Life Education Trust Canterbury at the Bridge of Remembrance on Sunday 1 November for a fun afternoon for the whole family.

Watch Canterbury businesses battle it out with their creatively decorated Business Ducks at 1:00pm before hundreds of Community Ducks take to the Avon River at 1:30pm in the race for fantastic prizes.

There will also be activities for the kids, food and the chance to meet Harold the Giraffe. The event is free to attend, and Community Duck entries cost $10 each.

Every duck entered helps Life Education Trust Canterbury continue delivering health and wellbeing education to more than 20,000 Canterbury tamariki each year.
