Why Strength Training Matters for Kiwis of All Ages ποΈββοΈ
Strength training is essential for maintaining quality of life as we age. This circuit-style class focuses on functional movements that translate directly to everyday activities like:
- Carrying shopping bags with ease
- Climbing stairs without discomfort
- Getting up from chairs or the floor independently
- Maintaining balance and preventing falls
Regular strength training has been shown to:
- Increase bone density, helping prevent osteoporosis
- Improve metabolic health, supporting weight management
- Enhance mental wellbeing through endorphin release
- Reduce joint pain by building supporting muscles
Our circuit format keeps workouts interesting and effective, with short bursts of activity targeting different muscle groups. This approach is perfect for those returning to exercise or looking to complement other fitness activities.
No matter your current fitness level, Graeme provides personalized options to ensure you're appropriately challenged while staying safe. The supportive group environment makes this class not just effective, but enjoyable too! π
