Experience the Benefits of Tai Chi for Health and Wellbeing 🌿
Often described as "meditation in motion," Tai Chi is a gentle yet powerful exercise that offers numerous health benefits, particularly for older adults concerned about falls prevention.
Our classes feature the Tai Chi for Arthritis programme developed by Dr Paul Lam, based on Sun Style Tai Chi which uses a more upright stance and smaller foot movements—making it ideal for seniors and those with mobility considerations.
Why try our Tai Chi class:
- Proven to reduce falls by nearly 70% in clinical studies
- Improves balance, strength and flexibility
- Enhances postural awareness and movement confidence
- Promotes deeper breathing and relaxation
- Supportive environment with like-minded people
Classes are structured at a comfortable pace, and participants are encouraged to rest whenever needed. The movements are gentle and controlled, making this an accessible form of exercise that still delivers significant health benefits.
As an Age Concern Otago initiative, these classes are specially designed to support the wellbeing of our older community members while creating a social, friendly atmosphere where everyone can feel welcome and included. 🌞
