The Debbie de Beer Dance Academy's Senior Swans® programme has been thoughtfully created to make ballet accessible to older adults. By removing jumps and focusing on stretches and graceful movements, the class maintains the essence of ballet while adapting to the needs of senior bodies.
Dance has been shown to be particularly beneficial for brain health, potentially helping to delay cognitive decline. The combination of memorizing sequences, moving to music, and spatial awareness creates an excellent workout for both body and mind.
No previous ballet experience is necessary to join this class. The supportive environment welcomes newcomers while still offering enough challenge for those with dance backgrounds. Comfortable clothing and soft ballet slippers or socks are all you need to begin your ballet journey.
