Why Balance Training Matters for Kiwi Seniors ๐ฟ
Falls prevention is crucial for maintaining independence as we age. SAYGO classes are specifically designed for older Kiwis who want to stay active and confident in their daily activities.
These classes provide more than just physical benefits - they're a chance to connect with others in your community while improving your wellbeing. Research shows that regular balance and strength exercises can reduce fall risk by up to 30% among older adults.
What makes SAYGO unique is its peer-led approach. After initial training with Age Concern, classes are run by members of the community themselves, creating a supportive and friendly environment where everyone participates at their own pace.
The exercises are gentle but effective, focusing on:
- Improving core stability
- Strengthening leg muscles
- Enhancing coordination
- Increasing confidence in movement
- Building better posture
By attending regular SAYGO classes, you'll not only reduce your fall risk but also enjoy greater mobility for everyday activities like gardening, shopping, or playing with grandchildren. Many participants report better sleep, reduced joint pain, and improved overall quality of life. ๐
Join this supportive class where the motto is "if you can move it, then let's move it however small" - proving that it's never too late to improve your strength and balance.
