Description of Pacific Movement Class
Enjoy a fun, low-impact movement class set to uplifting Pacific Islands music. With both seated and standing options available throughout, everyone can take part in a way that feels comfortable and safe.
The music features a mix of Pacific Island songs with varied tempos, designed to keep you moving while allowing you to go at your own pace. Each participant has access to a chair for support and seated exercises if needed.
Classes run four days a week and include a mix of gentle cardio, strength, and balance exercises to support overall wellbeing.
Who can join
Open to adults aged 65+ (or 55+ for Māori and Pasifika), as well as anyone at increased risk of falling who can safely participate.
What to bring and wear
Wear comfortable, casual clothing such as track pants, shorts, tights, or trousers with a t-shirt or sweatshirt. Supportive, well-fitting shoes or sneakers are recommended.
Additional information
- No classes on public holidays or over the Christmas and New Year period
- Plenty of parking available outside the SWPICS building
