The music is made up of various Pacific Islands songs and the tempo is varied. The music is intentionally selected to encourage participants to keep moving, but at their own pace and level.
What to expect
Everyone is welcome to attend these classes that are held four days a week. The classes involve cardio along with strength and balance exercises.
No class on public holidays and over Christmas and New Year holidays.
Plenty of parking outside the SWPICS building
Who can join
Open to anyone aged 65 years or older (55 years or older for Māori and Pasifika), or anyone at an increased risk of falling, if they can safely participate in the class.
What to bring and wear
Casual comfortable clothes e.g. track pants, shorts, tights or trousers with t-shirts or sweatshirts. Lace up or snug fitting shoes or sneakers that are comfortable to move in.
