Benefits of Low-Impact Exercise for Mobility & Strength 🌟

Low-impact exercise classes like MoveWell are brilliant for Kiwis looking to improve their health without putting stress on joints and muscles. These sessions focus on controlled movements that build functional strength for everyday activities.

Circuit training in a low-impact format offers:

  • Improved balance: Reducing fall risk and building confidence in movement
  • Better strength: Supporting independence in daily activities
  • Enhanced mobility: Making everyday movements easier and more comfortable
  • Social connection: Exercising with others boosts mental wellbeing
  • Cardiovascular health: Gentle but effective heart-healthy exercise

The team exercise component creates a supportive community atmosphere where participants encourage each other while working at their own pace. This makes fitness accessible and enjoyable rather than intimidating.

In water-based settings like the Levin Aquatics Centre, participants benefit from the natural resistance and buoyancy of water, which supports joints while providing effective resistance for strength building.

Regular attendance at classes like MoveWell can help maintain independence, prevent decline in physical function, and improve quality of life. Even small improvements in strength and balance can make significant differences in daily activities and confidence.
