Mixed Voice Choir Rehearsal

A Closer Look at Choir Rehearsal

New singers are welcomed warmly at this weekly choir rehearsal. Participants gather to focus on vocal technique and ensemble singing under the direction of an experienced conductor. The session suits all ages and experience levels, from those returning to singing after a break to lifelong choristers looking to refine their skills.

The group works through a varied repertoire of choral music, building blend, dynamics and phrasing together. Rehearsals follow a steady rhythm that helps voices settle into the music quickly. Ars Nova Choir runs this open session for anyone keen to join the singing.

This activity meets weekly on Thursday evenings.

• Begin with gentle vocal warm-ups to prepare the voice
• Work on breathing and tone production as a group
• Learn and polish new choral pieces each term
• Develop listening skills and part independence
• Enjoy the satisfaction of creating rich harmonies together
• Finish with a quick review of the evening's progress
