Description of It's All About the Story at MAI Gallery
Two photographers bring their distinct perspectives together in a powerful exhibition that celebrates storytelling through images. JanMaree Vodanovich shares over twenty years of work documenting New Zealand's wild Kaimanawa horses, exploring themes of freedom, resilience and connection. Her newly completed book, Heart and Soul – A Kaimanawa Story, launches alongside the exhibition. Greg Pringle presents his first major show, capturing the small worlds of insects, flowers, local landscapes and nostalgic subjects that invite closer attention.
The exhibition is open to all ages and completely free to attend. Visitors can drop in during gallery hours, with no booking required. The space welcomes everyone who enjoys photography, nature, or simply taking time to appreciate the stories around us. Whether you come alone, with family or friends, the exhibition offers a calm and thoughtful experience that connects people through shared appreciation of art and place.
Practical details make visiting easy. The gallery operates daily from 10.30am to 3.30pm, opening earlier at 9am on Saturdays. The show runs until Thursday 9 July 2026, giving locals and visitors plenty of time to experience both bodies of work. No special equipment or preparation is needed – just arrive and enjoy the photographs at your own pace.
