Regular balance and strength exercises are crucial for maintaining independence and quality of life as we age. The Steady As You Go program is based on the internationally recognized Otago Exercise Programme, developed right here in New Zealand.
Research from the University of Otago has shown these exercises deliver impressive benefits:
- Significantly reduced fall risk and fewer actual falls
- Improved strength, balance and mobility
- Enhanced confidence in daily activities
- Better posture and movement awareness
- Valuable social connections and new friendships
- Increased sense of wellbeing and independence
These gentle, focused exercises are perfect for anyone who wants to improve their balance, has recently been ill, or is recovering from surgery or injury. The classes provide a supportive environment where you can progress at your own pace.
By combining physical activity with social interaction, Steady As You Go offers a holistic approach to health that addresses both physical and emotional wellbeing - all in a friendly, supportive Kiwi atmosphere. πΏ
