At the Gisborne Bridge Club, our small, friendly club brings together contract bridge players for enjoyable sessions that foster connection and camaraderie. Whether you're an experienced player, a newcomer dipping your toes into the game, or a visitor passing through, you'll find a relaxed and supportive atmosphere where everyone is welcome. These weekly sessions are designed for all levels, from confident juniors to open players, offering a perfect blend of challenge, fun, and social interaction. Bridge serves as an excellent brain gym, sharpening your mind while you enjoy good company at every table.

Our sessions run throughout the week, each with a $5 table money fee that keeps things affordable for all. Plan to arrive 10 minutes early to settle in, chat, and catch up with fellow players. Here's what you can expect from our regular offerings:

• Open to all ages and skill levels: Suitable for experienced players, beginners, and visitors alike, with events like Scratch Play, Handicap Play, Championship Pairs, and Intermediate events.
• Monday evenings at 7pm: Scratch Play, Open and Intermediate Championship and Pairs for confident juniors through to open players; contact Convenor Caroline Kirkpatrick at 021 460 448.
• Wednesday afternoons at 1.15pm: Scratch and Handicap play, Championship Pairs for all comers; contact Convenor Louise Goodhue at 021 078 9190.
• Thursday evenings at 7pm: Junior Championship and Pairs events, with everyone welcome; contact Convenor Jill Smith at 027 575 2498.
• Friday afternoons at 1.15pm: Handicap Play with Pairs events for all comers; contact Convenor Glenys Evans at 06 867 8021.
• Duration and requirements: Each session lasts about 180 minutes; simply bring your enthusiasm for cards and arrive seated 10 minutes before start time.
