FitSteps® was created by professional dancers from the popular TV show "Strictly Come Dancing" and combines the best of ballroom and Latin dance styles into an accessible fitness format. Unlike traditional dance classes that focus on perfecting routines, FitSteps® emphasizes the fitness benefits while still delivering the fun of dancing.

This class is perfect for those who:

  • Enjoy dancing but want a structured fitness workout
  • Have reasonable to good mobility and fitness levels
  • Want to improve coordination, stamina and core strength
  • Prefer fitness activities with a social element 👯

Each session includes a variety of dance styles from cha-cha and jive to waltz and tango, delivering a full-body workout that can burn up to 600 calories per class. The steps are clearly defined and progressive, making it easy to follow regardless of dance experience.

As a Level 2-3 class, FitSteps® at Hobsonville is ideal for participants who can move around without difficulty, have average to good strength and balance, and feel comfortable engaging in physical activities. While dance experience isn't necessary, a positive attitude and willingness to try new movements will make your FitSteps® experience even more enjoyable! 🎵
