What Makes This Session Special

This evening aikido session suits adults and young people of all ages and experience levels. Participants turn up ready to train in a co-operative format that emphasises technique, balance and mindful movement. The class opens with warm-up exercises before moving into paired practice of aikido principles and basic forms. Beginners receive guidance while experienced students refine their skills through repetition and partner work. Weapons training with bokken, jo and tanto is included on a regular basis, alongside breathing and focus exercises. The session runs every Tuesday evening and remains open to visitors as well as regular attendees.

  • Partner drills that build timing and connection
  • Core aikido techniques practised safely with guidance
  • Occasional weapons work to develop posture and distance
  • Breathing and movement sequences for body awareness
  • Supportive atmosphere where everyone trains at their own pace
  • Opportunity to train alongside others in a consistent weekly group
