Find Your Focus at Te Awamutu Camera Club Meetings
Discover a welcoming space to grow your passion for photography with the Te Awamutu Camera Club. Our regular meetings are a fantastic opportunity for enthusiasts of all ages to dive into the world of both still and movie photography. Held from February to November at 7:30 pm, these 90-minute sessions at the Croquet Club rooms on Bank St, Te Awamutu, offer a blend of learning and camaraderie. Whether you're a beginner with a smartphone or a seasoned photographer with professional gear, our friendly club, established in 1954, caters to all skill levels. There’s no entry fee mentioned, so come along and see what we’re about—bring your camera and curiosity!
Take part in monthly competitions where members can submit up to two set subject and two open images, either as digital files or prints. These are critiqued by PSNZ trainee judges, with feedback and points shared at the next meeting to help you refine your craft. Graded categories ensure everyone, from novices to experts, has a fair shot at the end-of-year competition. Beyond the technical, joining our club means connecting with like-minded individuals in the Waikato community, sharing tips, and celebrating the art of capturing moments. It’s a brilliant way to build friendships while mastering photography techniques. 📸✨
With a history dating back to 1954 as the Te Awamutu Amateur Movie Club, we’ve evolved with the times to embrace digital formats since renaming in 1978. Our video workshops, also held at the same venue, add another dimension to your creative journey. If you’re eager to get more out of your photography, this is the place to be!
