Barbershop Rehearsal

What to Expect at Keynotes Barbershop Rehearsal

Participants gather for focused barbershop singing practice that builds vocal skills and group harmony. The session suits adults who enjoy choral singing and want to develop their voice within a supportive rehearsal environment. Singers work on four-part arrangements typical of barbershop style, with attention to blend, timing and expression. The weekly Thursday evening gathering follows a consistent structure that lets members progress through new material while refining existing pieces. 🎤

Keynotes runs this rehearsal as an open session for adults, so visitors can attend and take part without prior membership. The format emphasises active singing rather than performance preparation, giving everyone regular practice time with guidance from experienced leaders.

• Warm-up exercises to prepare the voice
• Learning and polishing barbershop arrangements
• Developing blend and tuning as a group
• Working on rhythm and dynamic control
• Repeating sections to build confidence
• Finishing with a full run-through of current songs

The rehearsal meets weekly on Thursday evenings, providing a steady rhythm for ongoing vocal development in Tauranga South.
