About Garden Clubs in Auckland

Garden clubs have been a cornerstone of Auckland's horticultural community since the mid-20th century. These gatherings provide valuable opportunities for both novice and experienced gardeners to share knowledge, exchange plants, and build lasting friendships.

The Auckland Garden Club, established in 1948, represents one of the city's longest-running horticultural societies. Monthly meetings typically feature:

  • Seasonal gardening advice specific to Auckland's climate
  • Plant identification and problem-solving sessions
  • Networking opportunities with fellow garden enthusiasts
  • Access to local gardening expertise and resources

Western Springs, where the club meets, has historically been a hub for Auckland's gardening community, offering ideal growing conditions and a supportive environment for both traditional and contemporary gardening practices.
