Based in Whanganui, within the stunning Manawatū-Whanganui region, our club is perfectly positioned to explore some of New Zealand’s most scenic trails and natural wonders. Our trips often take us within a 100 km radius of Whanganui, showcasing the diverse landscapes of this beautiful area. Whether it’s a Wednesday day tramp, a Thursday walk closer to home, or a shorter stroll around town on alternate Thursdays, there’s always an opportunity to connect with nature right on our doorstep. We also take pride in maintaining the Waitahinga Trails in partnership with the Whanganui District Council, a testament to our dedication to preserving local outdoor spaces.

Our Tramping Adventures

Our club offers a packed calendar of tramping adventures throughout the year, ensuring there’s something for everyone in the Whanganui tramping community. Weekend trips range from one-day outings to overnight and extended tramps, perfect for those seeking a deeper immersion in nature. For a midweek escape, join our Wednesday day tramps or the generally easier Thursday tramps closer to Whanganui. Over the summer, our twilight walk programme adds a magical touch to evening strolls.
