At the West Auckland District Tramping Club, our focus is on enjoying the natural environment through regular tramping activities that bring members together in the great outdoors. We are a group of around 60 people from diverse backgrounds and ages, and our outings typically happen most weekends, normally on a Sunday. These tramping trips allow us to explore the diversity of the Auckland region, with occasional travels further afield for longer weekends. Sessions run in a relaxed yet organised manner, led by experienced members who share details about the route and what to expect.

Beyond the trails, we hold regular club meetings featuring guest speakers on a range of outdoor and tramping-related subjects. These gatherings provide opportunities to learn and connect. From time to time, we organise social events to foster camaraderie, such as themed pot luck dinners, movies or theatre nights, bowling, and even night trots at the tracks. Joining our tramping club isn't just about walking—it's a chance to build fitness, meet new people, make friends, and discover areas you may never otherwise visit. As a smaller club affiliated with the Federated Mountain Clubs, we ensure a personal touch, doing our best to make newcomers feel welcome right from the start.
