Helping Russian-speaking immigrants thrive in New Zealand, the Wellington Russian Club is a dedicated cultural-language association focused on resettlement, orientation, and communication support through interpreting services. We emphasise cultural maintenance and creative realisation, ensuring members can express their heritage while integrating into local society. Special assistance is provided for older persons and disabled individuals within the Russian community, enabling them to maintain strong links and participate fully in New Zealand life. Our club builds a supportive networking group that promotes mutual aid and preserves Russian traditions, creating a welcoming space for all.

Our Mission and Activities

Furthering our goals, we offer a rich learning environment for Russian culture, including literature, history, and language classes tailored for Russian-speaking children, non-Russian speaking children of Russian origin, and the wider community. This educational approach strengthens cultural identity and encourages intergenerational connections. A highlight is our annual cultural festival in Kilbirnie, where attendees savour traditional Russian cuisine, enjoy lively songs, and participate in authentic dances. Additional events, such as Russian movie showings at the Newtown Community and Cultural Centre, provide engaging opportunities to celebrate and share our heritage.
