Why Waiheke Gymnastics Club

Welcome to Waiheke Gymnastics Club, where the welcoming atmosphere and strong community spirit create an ideal space for young athletes to thrive. Our primary aim is to provide quality, affordable GymSports programmes in a safe, challenging, and fun environment that enhances the fitness and wellbeing of the community. Formed in 2002 by Kashka Babushka, the club began as recreational gymnastics classes held in Te Huruhi School hall for the first 18 months. We quickly grew, moving to the new Waiheke Recreation Centre at Waiheke High School in 2004. Starting with a few recreation-based classes, we expanded over the years to meet community needs, now operating four days a week with both recreational and competitive gymnastics programmes.

In 2006, we officially became Waiheke Gymnastics Club Incorporated, solidifying our commitment to the island's youth. Today, we boast a membership of nearly 100 children, coaches, and officials, making us one of the largest and longest-running children's sports clubs on Waiheke Island. Our programmes focus on building strength, coordination, and enjoyment through gymnastics, suitable for everyone eager to participate. The dedication of our team ensures every session is engaging and supportive, helping participants develop physically and mentally in a positive setting.
