More than just a sports club, Te Awamutu Sports Hockey is a passionate community dedicated to the game of hockey in the Waikato region. Established in 1990 as part of the parent body Te Awamutu Sports, our club fields both Men’s and Women’s teams across all grades of the Waikato Hockey Association Senior competition. We take pride in creating a competitive yet supportive environment, welcoming new players aged 14 and above, whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just starting out. Our Location and Community
Hamilton serves as the heartbeat of our operations, even though our name reflects our Te Awamutu roots. Since the introduction of artificial turfs at Innes Common, all trainings and games have shifted to Hamilton, making us essentially a Hamilton-based hockey club. Despite this, we draw members from across the broader Waikato and Waipa regions, reflecting the diverse and widespread passion for hockey in these areas. Our central location allows us to connect with players from various communities, contributing to our growth as one of the larger and more successful clubs in the region.
