Welcome to Te Awamutu Camera Club

Established in 1954 as the Te Awamutu Amateur Movie Club, we’ve evolved over the decades to embrace the digital era, adopting our current name in 1978. Based in the heart of Waikato, our club is a rare gem, catering to both movie and still photography enthusiasts. Whether you’re passionate about crafting cinematic stories or capturing stunning stills, our friendly community is here to help you elevate your craft. We offer a space to ask questions, share ideas, and find inspiration, ensuring every member gets more pleasure from their photography journey. From February to November, we host video workshops at the Croquet Club rooms on Bank Street, providing hands-on learning opportunities. Plus, our monthly competitions allow members to submit up to two set subject and two open images—digital or prints—for critique by PSNZ trainee judges, with valuable feedback and points awarded to help you grow.
