Wonderfully positioned in Rotokawa, Waikato, Taupo Gliding Club offers a unique vantage point for gliding with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. The Waikato region, known for its diverse terrain and scenic beauty, provides the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable gliding adventure. Our location at Centennial Drive in Rotokawa ensures easy access for locals and visitors eager to experience the freedom of flight. The natural beauty of the area, combined with favorable flying conditions, makes our club a standout destination for gliding in New Zealand.

Membership and Facilities

Joining Taupo Gliding Club comes with a host of benefits tailored for gliding enthusiasts. For an annual membership fee of $450, members gain access to our exceptional facilities, including a spacious clubroom, a large kitchen, and a dedicated conference room. Accommodation options are plentiful with two Glidetels (each sleeping two), separate bunk rooms (also sleeping two), a toilet block, laundry facilities, and even camp and caravan sites for those looking to stay longer. Our gliding fees are structured based on agreed packages, with tow plane fees set at $85 to 4000 feet. For those new to gliding, we offer a 30-minute training flight for $250, which includes short-term membership for three months, allowing five flights at club rates.
