The North Shore Tramping Club is a welcoming group dedicated to outdoor exploration through tramping, perfect for individuals and family groups seeking adventure in New Zealand's natural landscapes. What makes our club special is the variety of trips we offer, focusing on the northern half of the North Island, with outings every weekend—either on Sundays for day-walks or extended over full weekends for deeper immersion. Our programme caters to different skill levels, ensuring everyone can participate safely and enjoyably.

For those new to tramping or bushcraft, we recommend starting with two medium day-walks to gain experience before tackling harder routes. Non-members are always welcome on these day-walks, with just a small extra cost involved; we simply ask that you contact the trip organiser ahead of time to register. Our social meetings provide a relaxed space to connect with fellow enthusiasts, held at the Takapuna Senior Citizens Hall in the building at the rear of the courtyard to the right of the library. Here, you can learn about upcoming tramps, share stories, and build lasting friendships in a supportive environment.

You don't need to reside on the North Shore to join in—our trips are open to all, drawing people from wider areas to explore the northern North Island's diverse terrain.
