Fee-Free Rugby for All in 2025

At Newlands Junior Rugby Club, we believe financial barriers shouldn’t stand in the way of enjoying rugby. Since 2022, we’ve offered fee-free rugby for Year 0/1 players to support families during challenging times post-COVID-19. Thanks to the incredible generosity of local businesses and our own fundraising efforts, we’re thrilled to extend this initiative to all players for the 2025 season. Note that an optional $20 team photo fee applies across all grades, ensuring everyone can still capture those special memories.

Programs for Every Young Player

Our family-friendly club caters to a wide range of ages and skill levels with tailored programs. For the youngest players, we offer Rippa Rugby for Year 0/1 and Year 2 (formerly U6 and U7 grades), providing a safe and fun introduction to the sport. For Year 3/4, Year 5/6, and Year 7/8, we host Rippa Rugby games on Friday nights, alongside tackle rugby options for Year 3 to Year 8 (formerly U8 to U13 grades). This variety ensures every child in Wellington can experience the joy of rugby in a format that suits them best.
