Established in 1974, our club boasts about 70 members and proudly affiliates with the Federated Mountain Clubs of NZ Inc. What sets us apart is the variety of tramping opportunities we provide, including Saturday outings, full-weekend escapes, and Wednesday tramps held every fortnight. These activities foster fitness, exploration, and camaraderie, allowing participants to discover New Zealand's diverse landscapes while building lasting connections.

Club meetings enhance the experience, taking place on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm in the HB Cricket Assn Rooms via the Jull St entrance at Nelson Park, Napier. Here, members finalise trip arrangements, reflect on past adventures, and listen to inspiring guest speakers who share their tramping tales. Transport is straightforward and shared, using hired vans or members' private vehicles, with each tramper contributing to the driver's running costs. This setup ensures everyone can participate without hassle, making our events accessible and enjoyable for those passionate about tramping in Hawke's Bay.
