Joining Levin Pistol Club

Interested in becoming a member of our gun club? The process is straightforward and designed to ensure you’re a good fit for the sport. Start by reaching out to our club secretary via email, sharing a bit about your background, interest in pistol shooting, and whether you hold a firearms licence. You’ll receive an application form and possibly an invitation to visit our facilities. Initially, new members are required to attend three mandatory shooting sessions to see if the sport suits them before committing.

After these sessions, you’ll need to pay the joining fees and complete the Pistol New Zealand application form to continue shooting with us. As a probationary member for at least six months, you’ll receive training from our club training officer and supervision from senior members on safe handling and shooting of small calibre pistols at our indoor range. Many members find indoor target shooting, aligned with ISSF standards, incredibly rewarding and choose to focus on this discipline throughout their time with us.

Progressing in Pistol Shooting

For those looking to advance, Levin Pistol Club offers opportunities to explore various shooting disciplines after the initial probationary period. After a minimum of six months and 12 shoots, you can apply for full membership. If approved by our committee, we can even sponsor your application for a B endorsement to your firearms licence through the New Zealand Police. Our focus on safety, skill, and community makes us a standout choice for anyone passionate about pistol shooting in New Zealand.
