Here at Karori Hockey Club, we’re all about the thrill of the game and the camaraderie that comes with being part of a dedicated sports club. Our club is home to talented Premier and Reserve-Grade men’s and women’s teams, who bring their A-game to every match. Whether you’re chasing the ball down the field or cheering from the sidelines, our club offers a welcoming environment for hockey enthusiasts of all levels. Our season runs from February to September, with pre-season training starting in March, ensuring plenty of opportunities to get involved in this fast-paced sport. We’re passionate about fostering talent and building a strong community through hockey, making us a standout choice for players and supporters alike.

Where We Play and Train

Predominantly based outside of Karori, our club calls the National Hockey Stadium in Newtown our home turf. This state-of-the-art facility is where our Premier teams play most of their weekly matches and where all teams train rigorously to hone their skills. For our Reserve-Grade teams, matches might also take you to other regional turfs, including Elsdon Park in Porirua, Fraser Park in Lower Hutt, Maidestone Park in Upper Hutt, and Kapiti Sports Turf in Paraparaumu. This variety of locations ensures our players experience diverse playing conditions while representing our club across the wider Wellington area. No matter where we play, our commitment to excellence in hockey remains unwavering, and we’re proud to be part of the local sports scene.
