Conservation plays a key role in our activities, with members dedicating time to projects in the Darran Mountains and on Pomona Island in Lake Manapouri, helping preserve the natural beauty we cherish. Social gatherings bring the group closer, featuring two annual trip planning meetings for members in the first and last calendar quarters, held right in Te Anau. These sessions encourage collaboration, and offers to lead trips are always welcomed, making it easy for anyone to get involved. Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2017, the club has built a rich history of memorable experiences, often blessed with outstanding weather as captured in trip photos—though the variable mountain conditions can lead to late changes in plans.
